Where I live and what I love about it: Downtown Wilmington! I love that I'm walking distance from different eateries, parks, and entertainment. Every time I go for a walk, I discover something new! I also enjoy my 8-minute drive to the hospital.

Why Nemours? I learned so much during health equity rounds on interview day! One piece of advice I took away was to not let language or communication barriers hinder building rapport with patients and their families, which is so vital in pediatrics. Sometimes, we can be too quick to get to the point when we have to use translating services for instance. This spoke to me with a great impact, and I could just imagine how much I would learn and become an even better medical trainee as a resident here! Plus, everyone is so open and welcoming here, and the hospital is beautiful.

Where I live and what I love about it: I live on the riverfront in Wilmington. I love how close it is to Nemours. It also has a variety of restaurants and is walking friendly. Another bonus is that I live really close to the train station which makes it really easy to get to Philly if I need a change of scenery!

Why Nemours? I first learned about Nemours when working with an attending at my home institution who trained here. She was an amazing attending and definitely made me interested in the program.
I officially fell in love with Nemours during my interview. The faculty and residents were welcoming and encouraging and I knew this would be a safe and supportive learning environment. Other things I liked about the program were the size and the fact that it's X+Y.

Career Goal(s): I’d love to work in an outpatient setting, unsure yet if primary care or specialty is my route.

Where I live and what I love about it: I moved into a cute apartment complex in Newtown Square, PA with my fiancé before residency. I love sitting on our balcony sipping coffee and listening to the birds. I especially enjoy how much natural light my plants get. If you know you know.

Why Nemours? Nemours was my first pick because I wanted to be in a tertiary care center with a strong focus on education and patient care. During my interview, everyone seemed so happy to work there and be a part of this community. I can honestly say the people here are the best part of this experience!

I love that I can walk all over the city, especially to clinic at Jeff!! It I also love that I am close to my family that lives in the suburbs.

Why Nemours? I had the opportunity to rotate at Nemours as a medical student and within a few days of being here I knew it was the perfect place for me! It feels like I am a part of a huge family. Everyone at Nemours has been so incredibly welcoming and supportive. It is evident that the learning opportunities are endless and the program wants to the residents to succeed in every way possible!! And my co-residents are the absolute best!!!

Where I live and what I love about it: North Wilmington (Talleyville) - I love having access to tons of restaurants and stores while also being able to enjoy home in a spot that's relatively quiet with lots of green spaces. Plus, since it's in-between Philly and other parts of Wilmington, my commute to each hospital is very doable!

Why Nemours? I was very impressed with the program's dedication to resident wellness efforts and advocacy programming, which definitely caught my attention early on. What ultimately sealed the deal though was the incredible people and warm atmosphere -- the consistent kindness, enthusiasm and joy I felt from everyone I interacted with, from my interview day to the resident social hours and conversations between events to simply chat about the program/life. I couldn't imagine ending up anywhere else!

Why Nemours? I wanted a medium-sized program, and I heard fantastic things about the faculty and teaching at Nemours! I had a really wonderful interview experience and could really see myself here. The location was also ideal for me, as my parents live in Delaware, I love Philly, and it allowed my boyfriend and I to stay in New Jersey for his job.

Why Nemours? I came to Nemours for a month of inpatient medicine during my 4th year of medical school and absolutely fell in love. The attendings enjoyed teaching the residents. The residents would joke around with each other throughout the day. And there were many unique and interesting medical conditions. It is also nice to come back to the east coast and my family and old friends after my 8 year Midwest expedition. Also free lunch!

Career Goal(s): TBD- most likely general pediatrics with involvement in medical education

Where I live and what I love about it: Wilmington DE - I love the short commute to the hospital (10 minutes on a traffic filled day). I live in a suburban area with a few restaurants in walking distance to my building and lots of shopping 5 minutes in any direction. It is about a 35 minute drive to Center City Philly to spend time with friends on days off which is the best of both worlds in my opinion!

Why Nemours? I knew I wanted to train at a standalone children’s hospital and at a program that supports residents entering either primary care or fellowship postgrad. On interview day, I was impressed by the many opportunities to get involved in research, advocacy, medical education, and more, which would benefit me no matter what path I ultimately choose. I remember feeling that everyone was happy and genuinely enjoyed working with one another, which really sold me on Nemours. Additionally, my partner is a year behind me in medicine, and Nemours is located near several excellent residencies he can apply to, which was another significant factor for me!

Career Goal(s): Primary Care Peds :)

Where I live and what I love about it: I live in South Jersey where my Fiance and I own a home together. I love it because I am still super close to Philly without having to deal with city traffic. My commute is super predicable and I'm close to my family as well as a bunch of great restaurants, bars, and shopping areas!

Why Nemours? I grew up in South Jersey so I always heard wonderful things about Nemours, but it wasn't until I did a Sub-I here that solidified my choice. I was blown away by the level of teaching that happens at Nemours. Everyone was so warm and welcoming and I felt like part of the team from day 1. I could really see the emphasis the program places on resident wellness which was important to me, along with the genuine bonds the residents have with each other. It also doesn't hurt that the hospital is absolutely beautiful with so much natural light :)

Why Nemours? After doing a couple of 4th year rotations here, it was easy to see what an amazing learning environment has been developed here. Every attending and resident I worked with as a medical student went out of their way to make me feel welcome and provide a quality learning experience. I'm so excited to train with such incredible people and hopefully provide the same experience I had as a student to others.

And the hospital is beautiful inside and out. My partner also happens to work here and our baby attends daycare here as well. The program was a perfect match for me.

Why Nemours? I was blown away by the sense of community, support, and positivity in the Nemours residency program when I had the opportunity to do an away rotation during MS4. The innovative curriculum, amazing hospital facility, and wide range of opportunities available during residency to grow and see a huge breadth of patients is second to none. Most importantly the patients, faculty, staff, and my amazing co-residents are what make me truly look forward to coming to work every day!
